Windows XP Setup for "Scots" Wireless
SETUP Step
1: Click
on Start-Control Panel, then double click Network Connections (you may have to
choose Network Connections a second time to arrive at the screen below).
Find your Wireless Network Connection, Right Click on it one time
and ensure it is set to Enabled. Click View Available Networks
Step
2: When
“Connect to Wireless Network” comes up, click Change Advance Settings.
Click on the Wireless Networks tab.
You should see the screen below. Click
Add, and on the next screen under Network Name type
SCOTS. Make sure "Data Encryption" and "Network Authentication" are
unchecked. Click OK twice.
Step
3: Right
Click once again on the Wireless Network Connection, and choose Repair.
Windows should report that the repair process has finished.
Now, sign into Clean Access if you already have it loaded on your
Laptop, and you’re ready to go. If
you do not already have Clean Access loaded, open Internet Explorer and
follow the instructions you are given. If
you experience any troubles with the instructions, please refer to the
IT
department in the basement of Fayerweather Hall for help.
