MAC Address Identification

for non-traditional network devices

In order to connect non-traditional devices(devices other than laptops and desktops) to the Maryville College residential hall or wireless network, users must provide the MAC address of the network device.  Below are instructions for may popular devices.  If your device isn't listed, please refer to your manufacturer for help.  One you have found your devices MAC address, please submit a help ticket by clicking "CONTACT" at the top of the page.

All devices MUST be set to DHCP in order to connect to the residential network at MC.  If you are unsure how to do this, please refer to the manufacturer of your device.

 

Sony Playstation Portable:

Go to Settings ----> System Settings----> System Information


 

Nintendo Wii

*There are known issues with Wii wireless internet connections.  Connection may or may not work depending on signal interference between your Wii and the Wireless Access Point.  Click here to read about them on Nintendo's website*

  1. From the Wii Channel menu, select "Wii Settings" (the round button on the bottom-left of the screen with "Wii" on it).
  2. Select "Internet," then "Console Settings."
  3. The MAC address of the Wii console is displayed on the first line.

 

XBOX 360

Palm PDA

  1. From the Home screen, tap Prefs.
  2. Under Communication, tap Wi-Fi.
  3. At the bottom of the Wi-Fi Preferences screen, tap Info.
  4. You'll find the MAC address of the device listed on the third line of the screen. The format is XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
